Privacy and cookies
What we collect, and why.
Short version: we collect what you send us so we can reply. We count visits without cookies to see which pages help people. No advertising trackers, no mailing list. Last updated October 13, 2026.
Who we are
This site is run by Support Guru. For anything about your data, write to connect@supportguru.uk and the person who reads it can act on it.
What we collect when you contact us
When you use the contact form, email us, call us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive what you choose to send: usually your name, your email address or phone number, and a description of your project, budget and timeline.
The contact form sends your message from this website’s server straight to our inbox as an email. Nothing you type is saved on the website. To stop the form being abused, the server keeps a one-way hash of your IP address, made with a secret key, only to count how many messages were sent from it in the last hour. Entries older than an hour are removed automatically.
We use this information only to reply to you and, if we work together, to scope and deliver the project. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or rent your details to anyone.
Legal basis
Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, we rely on taking steps you asked for before a possible contract (answering an inquiry and preparing a scope), and on our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us and in keeping the site working and secure.
Visitor statistics
We use Plausible Analytics to count page views and a few actions, such as sending the contact form. Plausible sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It does not build a profile of you: your IP address is used only to make a daily-changing anonymous count and is not stored. Data is processed in the EU.
Who else handles it
- Our web host runs the server that sends the contact form, and our email provider stores the messages in our inbox.
- If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp (Meta) carries that conversation under its own privacy policy.
- Plausible Analytics processes the visit counts described above.
- If you choose a language in the language switcher, the page text is sent to Google Translate to be translated. Nothing is sent to Google unless you pick a language.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry messages while they are useful for the conversation and any project that follows, and delete them when they are not. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It uses a small amount of storage in your own browser, which is never sent to us:
- Session storage remembers that you have seen the opening animation, so it plays once per visit.
- Local storage remembers your currency choice, a language you chose or that you dismissed the language suggestion.
- The
googtranscookie is set only when you choose a language. It tells Google Translate which language to show.
Fonts are served from this site, not from Google, so loading a page does not send your address to Google.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email connect@supportguru.uk and we will answer within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or the data protection authority where you live.
Changes
If we start collecting anything new, we will update this page before it goes live and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
